On December 4th, our classmates saw an exhibition about the Mr.Wu's Cultural Figures Sculpture Gallery.The traditional sculpture in this exhibition almost about the famous people of the history(just like writer,artists,poet,philosopher in the past)
I think it is a very interesting exhibition.I saw a sculpture,which is about the philosopher "Lao Zi" . This is my favourite artwork,because it is very attractive.Inside this sculpture,it is empty,it is enough to stand a person.Before I visit this,I have no ideal about it.The guide tells me that Mr.Wu make it empty because
"Lao Zi"wrote a famous book called"Dao De Jin".The main ideal of this book is to teach people to be generous, forgive others and be more modest.So we know "Lao Zi" 's heart is very widely.It can save other people,so it is enough to stand a people in it(look at the picture I'm standing inside him).
The sculpture "Lao Zi" is almost 3 metres tall,and his beard is very long.It is the symbol of the wisdom in China.He doesn't have a lot of hair,because he is old.His face looked very calm and erudite.He wears very long clothes and his hands are nestling up clothes.His eyes are closed, just like he is thinking.
This artwork attracts my attention and gives me a calm and peaceful feeling.I like it because Mr.Wu makes it very lifelike and it has the profound meaning.Mr.Wu used "empty" to show us the character of "Lao Zi".It is very interesting!That is reason why I like this artwork best.
From this artwork, I know art can show our ideas better than language.That is, art can show something that you can't express by language.Anyways, this artwork makes me know the interestedness and magic of art.

The speech about su zhou classical garden

Today we have listened a speech by a professor from Nanjing University Art Department,his name is Zhao bin.he told us about the classical park in Su Zhou.
First of all,he began his speech in a Chinese word(see left side),it is the word （园）now,it means garden.In the past,people made this word from the garden. That big square means the closure wall of the garden,the shape is similar to the Chinese word土 and represents the small hill or hollow in the garden.That small square indicates the pool,the shape under the small square is like the grass or tree.These things make a beautiful garden,so the people in china made this word.

Then he told the history about the Su Zhou classical garden, it has a very long history.In the past,the classical garden designer like to think that if they put some scenery together,how could make them look more beautiful and suitable.They made a lot of theories about this,such as water and hill,water and stone,how to make stone more suitable,and so on.

Because time is limited,he didn't tell us all of his prepared content,but I still learned a few things.I think this speech is not very interesting because it is very noisy and speaker just told the theory.I think he should give us a more lively and interesting speech such as telling us more story,like in the beginning of the speech(that Chinese word).

In conclusion, from this speech I knew the basic knowledge about the Su Zhou classical garden, it is not useless as it can help us to enjoy and observe things.If I have chance to go to Su Zhou classical garden,I will certainly have a good time.
